The church was full.\nIn the evening went to the Synod’s Hall. The meeting was men only. It was crowded. Mr. Motto spoke with great force. He has a certain magnetism He said when he returned from his first trip round the world he thought so many more thousand missionaries were needed to evangelize the world, the second time he came back he thought so many thousand more native workers were needed, but the third time he came back his ideas entirely changed. He saw that is was not a question of Mathematics but of Dynamics.\nMr. Mc somebody the editor of the Churchman, New York, spoke but he had nothing special to say except that Man’s relations were family relation i. e. Sons of God and brothers &c. I then went to the Assembly Hall and heard the last half of Harada’s address on the contribution of the non Christian races to the body of Christ. He made the loyality the contribution of Japan to the fulfillment of Christian truth.\n午前中はアビー教区教会で演説するよう招待された。牧師のジェームス・サビストン師曰く、この教会は市で2番目に大きな会衆を持っているらしい。恐らく30分間くらい演説したと思う。昨晩より少し慣れた気分だった。あまり慌てずに済んだ。1000人近くの、大きな会衆だった。教会は満員だった。\n夕方にはシノドス・ホールに行った。会議の参加者は男性のみだった。ホールは混んでいた。ミスター・モットが力強い演説をした。彼には特有の魅力がある。最初の世界一周の旅から戻った際、全世界に伝道するにはさらに何千人もの宣教師が必要であると考え、2回目の旅から戻った際にはその上何千人もの現地人の伝道者が必要だと思ったが、3回目に戻った際には考えが完全に変わったと言っていた。これは数字の問題ではなく人々の思考や行動の問題だと理解したのだ。\nニューヨークの『Churchman』の編集者であるミスター・マク某［Mackichan］が演説したが、人間同士の関係とは家族の繋がりである、すなわち皆神の子であり兄弟である等以外は、特筆するようなことは述べていなかった。その後集会所に行き、原田の、非キリスト教人種によるキリストの体なる教会への貢献についての演説の後半を聞いた。日本の人々の忠誠心は、キリスト教の真理の成就に貢献すると話していた。"@ja ;
